Information campaign on USIF.VI Project has been launched

The Ukrainian Social Investment Fund has launched an information campaign for the implementation of the new Project – ‘Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development. USIF.VI’. On October 17 and 18, 2018 USIF Deputy Executive Director Oleg Ovchinnikov and Director of USIF Eastern Regional Office Serhii Kadygrob met with management of Donetsk and Luhansk regional state administrations and representatives of local communities.

The aforementioned leaders of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund reported on goals and objectives of the new Project at the meetings held in Kramatorsk and Severodonetsk. The new Project, like the previous one - USIF V, aims to create housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs) by restoration (renovation) of existing buildings. A school or a kindergarten will also be renovated, in accordance with the German energy efficiency standards, next to each residential building for IDPs.

Oleg Ovchinnikov and Serhii Kadygrob also called on local communities to submit preliminary applications and information for their participation in the subproject competition. Representatives of local communities and local governments/self-government authorities were provided with templates of information to be submitted to USIF Eastern Regional Office.

‘Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development. USIF.VI’ Project will be implemented in accordance with the Financial and Project Agreement between Ukraine and Germany signed on April 19, 2018. The amount of German Government grant for USIF.VI implementation is 9 million euros. These funds are provided through KfW Development Bank and are intended for Dnipropetrovs’k, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv regions and to districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which are under control of Ukrainian government.
